About Flavorize

We started Flavorize in late 2009 to answer two questions that seemed to plague us almost every single day – what and where should we eat?   There were a ton of great resources on the web that provided reviews for restaurants but too often, the reviews seemed to address the ambiance, the service and other variables that didn’t really convey a sense of how delicious the food was. Once you chose a restaurant, it was also still really difficult to figure out what to order. The more we thought about it, the more it seemed obvious that  we needed to focus on dishes rather than restaurants and that we couldn’t just highlight the most popular dishes and recommend them to everyone. Taste is such a subjective thing and we’re all picky eaters to some extent. With that in mind, we created Flavorize, a recommendation engine which learns your tastes and recommends dishes at restaurants tailored to your taste buds.
